I'm working on a Nancy/Dale/John playlist:

It's full of songs that shocked me cuz the lyrics are so explicit about your baby girl cheating but also the dude just crying instead of being mad. And also songs from Radio Gribble :) Will keep adding as I hear more things that remind me of Them… and also songs that Dale listens to or sings in the show!

KOTH is one of the first times I've felt invested in “canon” relationships, especially hetero ones! I think Peggy/Hank, Nancy/Dale, and Nancy/John are all cute 🥺 and of course that doesn't stop me from investing in yaoi coin too. They can all coexist with their wives and jerk each other off after baseball…

Something about how they portray the married couples feels very natural and endearing, compared to other shows. I feel like other shows, hell other ADULT cartoons like Simpsons or Family Guy or Rick and Morty or whatever, or live action sitcoms, will treat the marriage as a punchline! Like oh haha the crappy husband and the bitchy wife. It's really refreshing to watch King of The Hill and to giggle when Hank tries to say “I'm not unfond of you Peggy” with his emotional constipation. It's cute to see couples treat each other kindly!

Thinking about when Hank was making coffins for the family, and instead of being freaked out Peggy demanded that he make her coffin better. It's in character, it's still funny, and it's really nice that they can be freak4freak for each other. And all the times Peggy sees Hank do something vaguely risky (cuz his personality is so wooden!!!) and give him bedroom eyes. And it's really funny to see Nancy and Dale constantly making out like sneaky high schoolers after they get back together. “Can we make out now…”. Plus Nancy and Dale are both psychos, Nancy's hardly normal when she's making smiling and making death threats to co-workers… mirroring how Dale very callously fires people when he gets the HR job. She just has to temper her own psychosis when around Dale's full blown mental freakouts. Something very sweet about Nancy genuinely being sad about the possibility of Dale cheating, but Dale actually being clueless and running home to Nancy to tell mommy what happened…

That's why people like Morticia/Gomez so much right? Cuz they actually express their love for each other! Not just verbal “I love you”, going along with the motions. But they FREAKY, they would KILL for each other, they would squeeze each other's asses in public!

Nancy/John is something a lil different cuz we hardly see them just enjoying a date or hanging out together. There's something cute about both John and Dale saying “Happy birthday baby” at the same time in the magician episode. And something that makes you think when John tries to get back with Nancy and she says “Let's just get right to the sex”. It feels more one-sided on John's side fr fr. Nancy uses John as a stress relief mechanism whenever she's freaked out by Dale, but John obviously wants something more than pumpin' n' dumpin'. Why else would a supposed lady's man keep trying for the same lady for 14 years (the lady's getting in her 40's too!!! Usually dudes go younger and dump girls when they get too old!) instead of just moving on to the next one after the weekend like Boomhauer? And almost every positive comment Nancy makes about John is about his body, like his muscular arms or smooth broad Native American chest. Or how he looks sexy all beat up like “some wounded bear”.

That reminds me - there's A LOT of interesting femdom characters in KOTH.

Nancy is her own thing, she takes on the traditionally masculine roles in a sitcom family. She works all day, she comes home tired. She pays all the bills and supports the family by herself. She cheats on her spouse because of the stress of being the sole breadwinner. But she's still very feminine with pink shirts and high heels and big poofy hair. And she's almost always the one who dictates her and Dale's sexual activities, with her pulling a yelping surprised Dale into bed almost every time!

Then you got Didi and Cotton. Didi's memory of meeting Cotton was her saying “oh you look so cute and helpless. Like a little baby. COOCHIE COO”. And that's how she rediscovers her attraction to Cotton too… Very freaky relationship there, lots of strange reversals. She's half Cotton's age (indeed, she's Hank's age and was his classmate!!“, but she's the one treating Cotton like a baby and being his caretaker… but also she's the one being abused by Cotton. There's a lot of reality to that age gap relationship, it's not always just a perverted old guy!! You gotta think about the girl having her own issues too. I love when we get to explore those fucked up issues in girls… We don't know much about Didi's backstory but it feels very juicy. Especially if she likes to baby Cotton, but is fucked up and depressed about giving birth to an actual baby and having to take care of that. Roleplay is not real life I tell you hwat.

There's another episode with another woman who expresses attraction to her man for being injured, but I forgot what characters those were. Me and Shane gasped when we heard it though. The show's writers got something going on with their like.. woobie hurt/comfort kink.

Hank also gets sexually harassed in SO many episodes. Miz Liz, his boss's wife, tries to get him in the hot tub. Debbie, his boss's mistress, tries to seduce him. There's the episode with the girl cop trying to fuck on him. An employee he hires grabs his ass. He got mono from a girl forcing him into a kiss in high school. A dolphin tries to have sex with him!!! It's mostly played off as laughs because of Hank's fear of sex, but there's something that feels very poignant to him relating in the show to Luanne's constant sexual harassment too.

And thank god Luanne doesn't get sexually harassed by any of the main cast members. She gets hit on by mostly greasy guys, dudes you aren't supposed to like. But I fear if it were another show, you'd have Boomhauer be a Quagmire and try to fuck her. But B-Dog said it himself, he ain't no Woody Allen, she's a teenager and Hank's relative!!! No one in the main cast makes comments on her, even Peggy says she shouldn't worry about other people thinking she's a slut. Hank actively tries not to hug her or look at her! Dale just tells her off for hanging around too much! Bobby doesn't want to see her naked (that's her cousin!!!)! Lonely ass Bill doesn't even try to make a move on her, Bill's too busy being in character trying to watch Peggy and Hank fuck! And even when Kahn accidentally sees her taking a shower, he just screams in fear.

Luanne's one of my fav characters in the show, and I like when main girl characters aren't going through constant sexual harassment for jokes. That shit turned me off Uma Musame's first episode so hard lmao. Hank takes it all like the soldier meme taking all the bullets. There's still jokes about her sexuality of course, from Joseph staring at her bouncing boobs, or shit people like Buck taking advantage of her bouncing boobs. But at least it fits in the narrative, and someone like Hank or Peggy will step up to tell people to fuck off. Like yes we can acknowledge that girls get sexually harassed, but will anyone defend them?? If not in reality, at least in cartoons you got friends and family that'll help ya… yeah…

Enjoying DaleJohn because Shane has set me firmly in my “shitty ass horrible shrimpy pathetic drooling begging pleading for a whiff of that pussy top” and “lovely voluptuous reluctant big booty bottom” ways.

JohnDale is a off-the-path route - Dale is constantly afraid of things being put inside him (whether it's alien probing or when he's knocked out from the fire ants!!! he asks Hank if anything was inserted into him!!!), but there IS a huge character connection between John and Dale in that Dale completely trusts John. More than his best friend since 2nd grade Hank! More than his own wife Nancy!!! John would never betray Dale by inserting something into him, let alone inserting phalanges into his shriveled butthole… Not when he's asleep, not when he's unconscious, not when he's awake!

Bottom!Dale means complete trust and horrible forbidden intimacy!! Especially considering this character's entire personality is paranoia and conspiracies and misguided compensated masculinity down to slinging guns as a penis substitute (peggy said so!!!) and trying to flex about having sex with his wife for the first time in 14 years.

I do believe that Nancy gives Dale the strap on the reg, because well that's his wife, he can at least trust her that much. And what kind of husband would he be if he didn't let his wife be the breadwinner and pay all the bills and take care of all the housework and put fingers in his butt? A terrible excuse for masculinity, I tell you hwat.

JohnDale could only be true in the forbidden gay gay homosexual emotional moment that Dale dares (whispers) asks for a penit in the butt. John could NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER push his peepee on Dale's paranoia!! John's not interested!!!! He's passive to Nancy, doesn't actively hit on girls (unlike boomhauer!!), always waiting to make the 2nd move, tired from his job anyways!!!

The equation would go then that Dale would ask for the strap from John because it reminds him of getting the strap from Nancy. And John would pensively give the strap out of obligation, a sense of service, guilt, and cuz it reminds HIM of giving the strap to Nancy too. 🙂‍↕️

Also John wouldn't nut 90% of the time 🙂‍↕️ cuz it's hard to nut when you're being used as a substitute, and also when Dale is no good (don't turn me out hank i'm no good!!!), and also he's not particularly aroused, and also I like it that way. And also he's used for his nut so much at his day job, he probably has really crappy used-up empty nut to be honest.
