Blaugust 11: 11ty for webcomics
I'm trying to catch up, ok? I'm all fucked up about everything all around the world, and my cat's showing early signs of FIP. So while waiting for medical assistance to respond, I found a nifty port of the Rarebit webcomic template to 11ty via Cartoonist Coop's resources.
I wrote down what I did as I did it, with screenshots, on a ⭐new page documenting how I got eleventy started for my webcomic.⭐
Did you see that link up there on the last paragraph?? Click that to get to the real blog post. Please.
Notes
The Rarebit template appeals to me because I already use it for Just Gorly Things. So in my never-ending quest to solve SSGs, this would provide with with some frame of reference for folder structure, and what it should look like. Maybe it will help other noobs like me. Apparently my Deploy to Neocities guide helped other people of a similar skill level and visual learning level to me.
We all eventually have to move off of typing directly into the Neocities editor… Remember that decentralization and owning our own sites, means being able to do things on multiple platforms! Should Neocities ever fall, or Vercel, or whatever host, we should be able to copy/paste our stuff into other places.
That's lowkey what I always wonder about SSGs, like how portable are they really if they have so many dependencies? I would like to be able to type up an HTML document and have it working even if I don't have internet at the time… it feels like SSGs always have to be connected to the internet, even if it's just me constantly searching how to do things with these intuitive technologies!
Ok short one for today. Since I blogged at length on another page LMAO. I really need to keep some of these blogs short and not yap so much. I am afflicted with curse of yapping to copemaxx with the horrible reality of life.

Ooo I've been wondering about 11ty/SSGs myself but theyre still a bit too out of my knowledge… It's great seeing how you approached it from a webcomic angle!
And the amount of people who edit and don't backup their site on neocities/nekoweb… You can download vscode or notepad+!!! 😭😭 Life could be easy!!!
99% of the SSG templates I've seen are for writers or blogs, so it's cool to see one specifically geared for visual artists! In both implementation and the tutorial language.
A lot of people are stubborn or fatigued and don't wanna do new things when they have their own groove settled, even if it would benefit them :p that's why there's still people on twitter 😭
