KOTH hair

I am diagnosing the King of The Hill alley boys's hair, because I drew some 70's Dale/Hank and need good reference.

Hank's 70's hair was the hardest to diagnose actually! I can't quite find the words for it - a short moptop with pomp'd up bangs? The closest I can think of is Elvis in the 1969, with his pomp drooping a bit but still puffed up for a fringe. His hair is a bit old fashioned for the time, but goes well with his conservative behind-the-times personality.

Hank's current, most well-known haircut is explicitly stated to be based on Roger Staubach's haircut. Which is a lovely detail, cuz Hank loves the men of sportsball, and can't move past his high school football days. Again, behind-the-times!

Bill has very curly long hair, much like the singer of Candlemass. It ranges from a shapely mullet with his ears visible, to a messy beautiful mop hair.

There's not really a word for Bill's current bald-on-top with sides hair. I think they just call it male pattern baldness.

Dale's 70's hair is a moppy shag. It's inbetween hippie and rock n' roll. If it was on any of his other friends, he'd have feathered voluminous hair. But he's dale, so he's thinning and wet looking. I'll also take this opportunity to say that Chop Top and Dale are psychotic brothers from another Texan mother.

Dale's later 80's hair is a pomp'd up, slicked back mullet similar to Jimmy Hart's. Gotta show that hairline while you have it!

There's not really a word for Dale's current bald-on-top with sides hair. I think they just call it male pattern baldness - thought not yet as advanced as Bill's. It's in the U-hairline shape for now…

70's Boomhauer has a beautifully feathered mop, with that rebellious edge certain to make the ladies swoon and the guys goon. It has a bit more of a surfer quality to it than George Michael's more meticulous hair, but it's about the same shape.

80's Boomhauer has the cool 90's 50/50 curtain hair. Another heartthrob hairstyle that gets the babes. It's interesting to note that Boomhauer is much more fashion forward than his friends with his hairstyles, being a decade ahead of the trends. Dang ol' dandy.

I'd like to do some of the girls next, like Peggy's inscrutable granny hair and Nancy's giant 80's hair.
