The yaoi pairing between Scout and Spy from TF2. It is just like spongesquid for me.

Expiration Date (2014) plot of “Scout asks Spy to help him on a romantic date” is gay. I knew it when it came out, and I have oppositional defiance so I refused to be sucked into the obvious bait. I mean, c'mon. “I am a woman. Seduce me.”

In 2018 I got back into TF2, cuz Shane got mad at seeing Scout in random SFM hentai, and I had to explain why this annoying dude was annoying. And I sighed and said the most obvious pairing was Scout and Spy. And here I am now with fifty Scoutling children.

Sometimes internet people that I have never seen or talked to are mad at me cuz I draw pictures of my Scout and Spy characters holding hands. Usually it's because they're comics-only fans that got into the game 1 year ago, so they worship the comics canon where Scout is Spy's son and there is only one named character of each class.

I have hovered around this pairing since 2007, before there was any SFM or comics to explain backstories. I personally still have fun imagining my own backstory for my own Scout and Spy characters.

Unbeknownst to me, between 2007 and 2018, Gabe decided to make “dadSpy” a dangling herring in the comics.

Some nerds point to 2009's “Meet The Spy” SFM as the genesis of DadSpy. To which I say, fucking your mom doesn't make me your dad!!! Unless you want me to be :D

But yeah the “ur mum” joke expanded into some silly thing in the comics that people try to make sad/angsty/fluffy. But I don't like the deadbeat dad trope at all. So I am not intellectually or yaoi-ly stimulated by “dadspy”.

I don't really care if other people like the “dadspy” headcanon, whether it's familial or incestuous. Y'all gotta remember how to tag your fics btw, the “/” slash denotes a romantic pairing and the “&” denotes platonic. I am like 50 or 80 years old and I draw cartoon characters for fun. I cannot participate in ship wars in the year of our lore.
