This is an old revision of the document!

Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout New Vegas is one of the greatest games of all time. I like just walkin' around the beginning area and running away from radscorpions. I like talking to the same NPCs and doing the same roleplaying as I did in my last run. I always go :o when more of the world and characters are revealed. Never gets old!

Fan Profile

  • Raul Tejada (voiced by Danny Trejo, how can I resist??)
  • God

Ships are probably left/right fixed unless otherwise stated.

  • 20 wild cazadors impregnating Joshua Graham with blasphemous eggs and Mormon shame

  • Tabitha x Ronda (probably riba?)
  • Dog x God
  • Dog x Father Elijah
  • Me canonically holding Christine's hand
  • Every Ghost Person x Dean Domino's crusty senior citizen ass

Mods

In current year, you may NEED some mods in order to run New Vegas on a modern machine. Even at release, NV was very buggy, crash-prone and nigh unplayable.

You may also want some fun mods to add new quests, or femboy legionairies to the game. Those are cool too.

My NV Modlist is on a separate page cuz it's so long.

Mod packs

Clean, curated mod packs are a great starting point to see which mods are well-known to work well, and play good with other mods! They'll also walk you through any errors you may find if you try to install stuff yourself the first time.

  • Viva New Vegas - Instructions for a vanilla-like NV experience that fixes bugs and crashes.
  • The Best Of Times - Instructions for TTW and TTW-friendly mods so you can play FO3 in NV's engine.
  • SALVO - extremely HD overhaul, ymmv on the aesthetics that make everyone look like Skyrim characters

Sites

Once you have a good base set-up from recommended mods from modpacks, you may wish to pick and choose mods for your own taste.

  • Mod.Pub is a great mod site with more creator-friendly control over their work and compliance towards European privacy laws. There are some mods you can only get on mod.pub, such as Eddoursul's work.
  • ModDB has been around for a while, and the UI is a bit dated. Still, it has some mods that I quite enjoy like a working version of the DarNified UI. Yeah I like DarNified over VUI+ :P
  • Nexus Mods is the most popular site for creators to upload their work. It is highly commercialized, full of ads, uses the modders as free labor for their own financial gain, but it has the most work on it.

I like that we can choose alternatives to one big site! It's nice to spread things around and choose the policies that work best for our own needs.
