+In current year, you may NEED some mods in order to run New Vegas on a modern machine.  Even at release, NV was very buggy, crash-prone and nigh unplayable.
+You may also want some fun mods to add new quests, or femboy legionairies to the game.  Those are cool too.

+Clean, curated mod packs are a great starting point to see which mods are well-known to work well, and play good with other mods!  They'll also walk you through any errors you may find if you try to install stuff yourself the first time.
