Spent all day today moving furniture around the house. Feel motivated to keep cleaning. Really happy with what we have in our room right now, it will help a lot with art-making and shipping orders!
We moved our printer desk out to the living room, and moved in a wooden bookshelf that's a bit thinner so it can fit inbetween me n' Shane's desks. The bookshelf is tall enough that it can fit our plotting machine we use to cut stickers/vinyl/paper, as well as my label printer and all the papers we use for printing.
The printer desk is fine, it's just too low and flat for how our small our room is. We need to make use of more vertical space. So it can fit in the living room and holding packing/shipping stuff, and art supplies.
Next, we really have wanted to demolish the closet wall and make the room more “open concept”. So we can have our clothing drawers in that corner and not have to hunch over into a tiny closet to find clothes. We'll also move around the tupperware containers we have and see which ones we can consolidate (lots of art supplies and tech stuff), and which ones we can use for like.. our clothes too.
The room feels a lot less cramped now, Shane can get to his desk easily and we can fit a little folding desk inbetween us when we're sharing snacks and drinks. I also velco'd our power strip to the wooden bookshelf, so our dogs will stop stomping on it and disconnecting our internet lol. The printer power wire now reaches the power strip without stretching too far, and everything just fits better.
Small blaug for today. We still have hella stuff on our bed and floor we have to put back, but it will be easier now that I am labeling everything with little stickers and can remember where to put stuff. Got the new USBs for trying to install Linux again, will try again tomorrow.
Packed up a commission to send out tomorrow. Need to work on the outstanding commission and update the progress page. Really tired now though. Will get to that stuff soon. Oh yeah it's the latest part of August… must get started on sticker club and draw everyone's sketches.
I'm trying out BetterBird as a Thunderbird alternative LOL. I think it has an RSS reader built-in, much like Thunderbird, but also a lot of little UI tweaks that makes it easier on my eyes. Mostly I'm just seeing if it lags less than Thunderbird. I have so many emails with such heavy attachments that I always crash Thunderbird or slow it to a halt and need to end its process. But this should also help declutter my desk space, since it's a dedicated window for checking more “work” related stuff. And my browser can stay for like fun or something.
Oh and I tweaked my wiki's layout a bit cuz the 3-column layout was too much. 2-columns with both the Table of Contents and the navigation on the left feels better to me. Also adding more padding to everything so there's more room to breathe. Wow, everything is cleanup even online!
