"Lily" in Japanese.  I use it to tag lesbian and female/female works with no dudes involved.  Sometimes yuri can be two dudes though.  Or a dude and a lady if the dude was a lady.  Don't worry about it kitten. 

Yuri can be safe for work, as well as explicit.
